Ad-aware As we mention on our FAQ page, some of the games listed at GameHippo.com are adware. An adware game may or may not be spyware - which is impossible to know without utlilizing a program such as Ad-aware. Ad-aware lets you remove any components related to spyware on your computer. Ad-aware is freeware however despite its freeware status, it contains greyed out options and an "update to Ad-aware plus" button. This violates our standards of what is considered freeware. However, there are no other programs available which can detect and eliminate spyware effectively. Ad-aware scans the memory, the cookie files, the file directories, and each single file so a full scan make take 5-20 mins depending on your system. After the scanning process you check which of the found components you want to have removed.
The above screenshot was taking during a spyware scanning of my own computer - and as you can see over 20 spyware items where found! I was totally unaware of this. I should emphazise that spyware is not in any way virus related, and spyware is usually harmless to your computer. However, occationally spyware may cause computer problems such as crashes and slower Internet connection. Also, it's recommened to uninstall spyware programs before removing their components, and that removing spyware components from a spyware program may often prevent the program (the game) from working. automatic fire extinguisher kiev The main issue with spyware is that it may invade your Internet privacy. Further, some spyware components may have been installed on your computer without your awareness, which in itself is a violation.
